How to Enable Dark mode in Whatsapp for Android and iOS

Enable Dark mode in WhatsApp for Android and iOS: Many Android and iOS users are interested in setting their WhatsApp to dark mode, but the dark mode only works for users who have the latest Android Q Beta or iOS 11 and above.

WhatsApp Dark Mode: For the past few months, the Android developers and iOS team have been focusing on dark mode. By using the dark mode, there will be many benefits for the users. As you all know, recently, Facebook Messenger, Google Chrome started dark mode.

I am sure that a lot of users will prefer this dark mode, so Google has given this mode system-wide on their latest Android version, Android Q. Seeing all this, the WhatsApp team also decided that they should implement this dark mode, but there is no official announcement from the team. But I am here to explain how you can set your WhatsApp to dark mode. However, this mode will only work for users who have the latest Android Q Beta OS on their smartphone. Activate Dark Mode on Android

  1. Go to your phone settings, click on the display option.
  2. Now tap on the ‘Select Theme’ included here and click on the included Dark option.
  3. Now go to “Developer Options” in your phone settings. ( If you have not seen developer options only in your settings, you can see the Build number option, click it seven times and done, and you will see developer options.)
  4. No, when you click Develooptions, you can see “Override force-dark”. Once you click on that, you can apply dark mode to any app that you want. Once you activate this on your WhatsApp, you can check if the dark mode is visible inside the chat.
  5. To set the dark mode fully for your WhatsApp, go to WhatsApp settings and click on the wallpaper, then click on “None”.
  6. By doing this,  WhatsApp is fully activated in dark mode.

Activate Dark Mode on iOS.

Now, to activate dark mode on iOS, your device must be on the version of iOS 11 or above.

  1. Go to your phone settings, click on “Accessibility”.
  2. Now you can see the option “Display Accommodations”, click on it. Now you can see the “Invert Colors” option; click on it. Now you can see the “Smart Invert” option to click on it.
  3. Once you have done this, the dark mode will apply to all the apps on your iPhone.
  4. Now, to remove the WhatsApp background, go to your WhatsApp settings cl click on the wallpaper, and now click on “None”.
