Learning the hard way
I am an amateur photographer, having learned the hard way myself. I bought my first digital camera (believe it or not, with 0 megapixels) in 1996 after having shot 35 mm film and slides for more than 20 years. I must admit digital was a big turn in my photography career.
Over the years, I have tried most photography techniques, but I have a special passion for photography of animals, and especially cats.
I am also traveling a lot, so I am very fond of travel and landscape photography.
Earlier, I used to develop my own films and copy the pictures in the darkroom. The “darkroom” nowadays – Photoshop or similar – has made the “darkroom work” much easier and even more fun.

What kind of images do you shoot?

Another important reason very few photographers cover all specialties is tneedfoforfor equipment. A bird photographer will have to invest in fast telephoto lenses, while a landscape photographer uses wide-angle lenses. A studio photographer will need strobes and other lighting equipment.
Whatever photography techniques you want to use, there are three very important elements you need to control:
Equipment – how to take control of your camera and lenses
Light – how to take control of the available light and how to add extra light
Subject – how to handle the subject and get the most out of the actual situation
Each of these techniques requires different approaches when it comes to shutter speed, aperture, lighting, and composition. To get the most out of your photography, you must learn how your camera works.
You can shoot in different auto modes, but as soon as you take control of the camera, you will immediately see that the quality of your images improves. Finally, and maybe mostimportantlyt do not forget to use your LCD screen or viewfinder and compose images.
